Primary Name

What is Primary Name

KNS Primary Name enables users to set their default domain as display across Kaspa ecosystem.

  • When a user sets a Primary Name, the chosen .kas domain is assigned as the default domain that their wallet address resolves to.

  • KNS usually links a user's domain to their wallet address (kns.kas → kaspa:xue…abcd). The Primary Name feature introduces reverse resolution, the wallet address now points back to user's primary name.

  • Primary Name can be recognized as the user's official identity displayed across integrated apps, wallets, and partners on Kaspa.

KNS Primary Name Use Case

1. On-Chain Identity Primary Name becomes the user’s official identity on Kaspa, replacing long wallet addresses with a readable .kas name.

2. Wallet Display Integrated wallets (KNS, Kurncy, Kasanova) show the Primary Name instead of the full address during send/receive.

3. Reverse Lookup (Explorers) Explorers can resolve a wallet address back to its Primary Name for clearer identity recognition.

4. Cross-App Visibility dApps and partners can automatically display the user’s Primary Name across profiles, transactions, and UI elements.

5. Social & Chat Integration Messaging or social apps can display messages and profiles using the user’s .kas Primary Name.

6. Developer API Usage Developers can set, fetch, or update Primary Names via API for identity-aware features across their apps.
